MONTROSE 1 COWDENBEATH 2

 

Saturday 10th September, Ladbrokes League Two, Match No 5, Att 393.

 

We had to come from behind to take the points at Links Park last Saturday to move into eighth place in the table.

 

A low key first half saw McGurn tip a 30 yard effort from Masson with little else of note happening until the closing minutes.

 

With 43 minutes gone Gary FRASER was bundled in the box by Todorov and he dusted himself down to fire the resultant spot kick low into the right hand corner.

 

The home sides joy at having taken the lead in a match for the first time this season was short lived however in stoppage time when Gary GLEN got on the end of a Brett cross to bullet the ball past Fleming from close range.

 

In 54 minutes we than got what proved to be the winner when Glen broke past Bolchoweckji and his angled shot was parried by Fleming into the path of Kris RENTON who tapped the ball into the net.

 

As the game drew to a close Masson saw a long range shot come off the bar but the defence stood firm to get a welcome win.
