Turner Prize

Posted July 6, 2016

Manager Liam Fox has now put together another part of his player jigsaw with the signing of experienced 29-year old midfielder Chris Turner.  Chris of course is very well known to most Cowdenbeath fans from our many tussles in recent years with Dumbarton.  Chris spent three years with Dumbarton between 2012 and 2015 before signing for Hamilton Accies last season.  He played for Accies in the Premiership but picked up an injury early in the season and later left Hamilton by mutual consent at the turn of the year.

Chris originally hails from Ballymoney in Northern Ireland and began his career at Derby County as a youngster.  He then moved to Ireland to join Sligo Rovers in 2005.  This was followed by another move to Bohemians playing at Dalymount Park in Dublin.  A trial with Rangers followed before he signed for Partick Thistle in 2008.

Soon though he returned to the Republic and joined Dundalk where he was nominated for the PFAI Players' Player of the Year plus was selected for the League of Ireland Premier Division Team of the Year.  In 2010, he moved to Shamrock Rovers where he won two Premier League titles plus played in the Champions League.  Chris also has 12 caps for Northern Ireland at under 21 level.

We are thus delighted to welcome Chris to Central Park.
