We are pleased to announce that striker Greig Spence, our top scorer this season with 18 league and cup goals, has been nominated as one of four candidates for the SPFA League 1 Player of the Year.

 

Greig faces competition from the Dunfermline duo of Faissal El Bakhtaoui and Joe Cardle as well as Peterhead's Rory McAllister.

 

Former Cowden players from recent times to win SPFA Player of the Year awards are Marcus Paatelainen who was top player in the Third Division in 2005/06 , Jon Robertson who was the Second Division winner in 2011/12 and Kane Hemmings who won the Championship award in 2013/14.
