MATCH PREVIEW – STENHOUSEMUIR (H)

Posted April 21, 2016

It’s the final home Ladbrokes League 1 game of the season on Saturday when Stenhousemuir areour visitors with a 3 p.m. kick off.
A home win would ensure our League 1 status for next season, but with the Warriors sitting just two points below us it is also a “must” win for Brown Ferguson’s side.

The honours have been even so far with each side winning at Ochilview while the first game at Central Park ended in a draw.

Back in August we went down 4-2 at Ochilview with Colin McMenamin, Liam Henderson, Alan Smith and Alan Cook scoring for the Warriors with Aldin El Zubaidi and Greig Spence replying for a Cowden side which played the last 12 minutes with ten men after John Armstrong was sent off.

The return game at Central Park in October saw Brad Donaldson and Spence put us into a 2-0 lead with just three minutes remaining but goals from McMenamin and Lewis Small salvaged a point for the visitors.

Our return to Ochilview in February was almost déjà vu as we took a two goal lead early in the second half through Ross Caldwell and Declan Byrne, before McMenamin scored two goals in as much minutes before Lewis Milne eventually got our winner with 17 minutes to go.

Kieran Gibbons will once again be eligible for selection after serving a one game ban last  Saturday, but Chris Kane who missed out last Saturday due to injury will once again have to watch from the side lines as he serves a one game suspension.
