Cowden Trust News

Posted December 3, 2009

The Cowdenbeath FC Community Trust has produced a 'Cowden calendar' which has a mixture of photos of the town and actions shots of the Football Club. The calendars are priced at £4 each and a special offer of 3 for £10 for Trust members.

The Trust has limited stock of the calendars and they can be purchased from Trust committee members and from a few retail outfits in the area including: Junction Bar, Kassy's Kitchen and Tam Courts Butchers. All proceeds raised will go to a number of good causes over the course of the year.

The Trust is also looking to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1970 promotion winning side by organising a re-union of the surviving members of the squad. Plan are underway to arrange a special evening, with the assistance of former players Andy Kinnell and Davie Cairns, and it's anticipated that the event will take place in March or April 2010. Full details will be published in the local press as well as the usual websites once arrangements have been finalised. Anyone one interested in helping or participating in this event should contact the Trust.

Meanwhile, the Trust are helping young Cowden player Danny Mackay on the road to recovery from a serious liagament injury he suffered against East Stirlingshire last May. The promising 18-year old was a star performer last term and is making good progress towards a 1st team return in the New Year, helped by the Trust's gift of membership to Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre gym.
