Scottish Youth Cup - 4th Round

Posted December 1, 2009

The Scottish Youth Cup 4th round tie between Cowdenbeath U'19s and Livingston U'19s has been switched to Friday 4th December @Almondvale - kick off 7pm - after a request from the Livingston.

Meanwhile, Paul Mooney's under 19s side went down 3-2 to Queens Park on Tuesday night in a SFL Youth Division game on the 3G surface at Lesser Hampden as Livi coach, and former Cowden manager, Brian Welsh watched from the shadows of the West Stand.

The Blue Brazil started the game on the front foot and opened the scoring through Chris King before Derek Wallace doubled the advantage from the penalty spot.

The away side were in cruise control at this stage but lost a soft goal just before half-time after the referee missed a Queens handball in the build up.

The Cowden youngsters never got going in the 2nd half and Queens Park soon leveled the scores. A Cowden corner was cleared by the Queens defence and a home forward ran clear to slot past Lee Wilson from 16 yards.

Queens Park scored the winner shortly after from an impressive long range free kick which nestled in the top corner.

TEAM: Lee Wilson, Dean Brett, Craig Stevenson, Steven Bennett, Peter Bradley, Thomas O'Brien, Mark Forbes, Chris King, Martyn Robinson, John Ferguson & Derek Wallace. Subs: Rory Emslie, Cyrus Moosavi, Kyle Miller, Connor Kane & Jordyn Gill.
