MATCH PREVIEW - STENHOUSEMUIR (A)
Posted February 26, 2016
We kick off a double header of away Ladbrokes League 1 games on Saturday afternoon when we face Stenhousemuir at Ochilview Park with a 3 p.m. kick off.
Successive home defeats from Peterhead and Forfar this week leaves us just three points ahead of the Loons as we look to avoid the dreaded ninth place in the table.
The Warriors sit a place above us but seven points ahead of us, with a game less played than us, and sit just three points behind Albion Rovers who currently occupy fourth spot.
The Warriors were idle last weekend after their scheduled game with the Rovers at Cliftonhill was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Brown Ferguson's side have had the upper hand over us in the two previous games this season with a win and a draw. Back in late August they ran out 4-2 winners at Ochilview thanks to goals from Colin McMenamin, Liam Henderson, Alan Smith and Alan Cook with Aldin El Zubaidi and Greig Spence replying for us, while we finished the afternoon with ten men after John Armstrong was sent off.
The return game at Central Park saw a 2-2 draw after we had led with just three minutes to go. Brad Donaldson and Spence had given us a comfortable lead but last gasp goals from McMenamin and Liam Small denied us a win.
Kieran Gibbons will miss the match due to suspension after being sent off on Tuesday night against Forfar.
