Signing News

Posted January 28, 2016

The club is pleased to now confirm a trio of young signings.  Firstly, goalkeeper Shaun Hunter has been resigned following the expiry of his Modern Apprenticeship with the club.  Shaun of course is currently side-lined due to injury.  A local boy he also works in Morrisons in Cowdenbeath.

Meanwhile, signing their first pro contracts are Harvey Swann and Ryan McDonald.

Midfielder Ryan McDonald is 19 and a Lochgelly lad.  He started out playing football with Kennoway then between 13 and 16 was on the youth books at Raith Rovers.  He joined Cowdenbeath at U17 level.  Ryan is an Apprentice Valve Technician at Score UK, Cowdenbeath.

Left back Harvey Swann is 18.  He lives in Dunfermline but originally hails from Middlesbrough.  Indeed he was christened Harvey Jericho Juno Swann in honour of former Boro legend Juninho.  His great grandfather also played for Boro alongside the legendary Wilf Mannion.  Harvey was on the books of Leeds United at the age of 7 and later turned down a place in the Newcastle United Academy.  He preferred to hone his skills with the Brazilian Soccer School in Sunderland using Football De Saleo training methods.  Fittingly, he now joins the Blue Brazil.  Latterly, Harvey has played for Woodmill High School and Fife Schools.  He works at a well-known Fast Food outlet.
