The Board of Cowdenbeath FC can now confirm that the original club crest (with the pit winding gear) which was reintroduced for this season has proven to be so popular that it has been decided that it will be retained on a permanent basis as the club's badge going forward.  

 

Thus the original club crest which was adopted in the 1950s has been fully reinstated as our official crest.  The mining aspects were dropped from the crest in 1970 as there were no pits left in Cowdenbeath by that time.  However, the Board believes the club crest should indeed proudly reflect the club and the town's mining roots.
