It’s welcome to Central Park to a local lad from a famous Cowdenbeath footballing family. Jason Dair is following in the footsteps of his father Ian and brother Lee who both played for Cowden. We are pleased to confirm that Jason has now come on board at Central Park as Colin’s Nish’s new Assistant Manager.
Jason Dair’s senior career began when he joined Raith Rovers from Castlebridge Colts in July 1991. The midfielder joined the Kirkcaldy side just as the Jimmy Nicholl revolution took hold at Stark’s Park. He was a member of that famous team that shocked Celtic to win the 1994/85 League Cup – the greatest moment in Raith’s history. He picked up his second 1st Division championship medal that season. He then scored the Rovers first ever European goal the following season and played in the famous match v Bayern Munich. Later, Jason followed Jimmy Nicholl to Millwall.
He moved back to Raith Rovers and then, in February 1999, Jason was transferred to Dunfermline where he went on to enjoy four good years. His next port of call was Motherwell. Then it was on to Livingston where he spent a couple of seasons. He made the briefest of returns to Stark’s Park in 2006 – 72 minutes to be precise! Then it was on to his third Fife senior club – East Fife. Jason eventually took up a coaching role at Methil and went on to become their Assistant Manager.
Jason subsequently went junior with Ballingry Rovers and then was player/manager at Oakley United for a spell. Latterly, Jason had been assisting Colin Cameron at Berwick Rangers. And now we are delighted to see Jason taking up his new post with his hometown club.
