MATCH PREVIEW - STRANRAER (A)
Posted October 24, 2015
It's week 11 in Ladbrokes League 1 and we make our first trip to Stair Park, Stranraer for the first time since March 2007. The Second Division match on that sunny Sunday afternoon is fondly remembered as Pat Clarke's finest moment in a Cowden shirt as he scored five times in a 6-1 win with Pat Scullion also on target.
The last meeting of the sides at Central Park on the opening day of the season wasn't so joyful for the Cowden faithful as we went down to a 2-1 defeat, which has been our only league reverse on home soil this season, with Craig Malcolm scoring a penalty in the last minute to secure all three points for Brian Reid's side after Dean Brett had cancelled out Ryan Thomson's earlier opener.
COWDEN AWAY FORM
We head to the south west on the back of five successive away league defeats during which time we have conceded 21 goals with only five scored.

STRANRAER HOME FORM
Whilst we have the poorest away form in Ladbrokes League 1 Stranraer have the worst home record of any side in the division with only one win and four defeats.
That solitary win came on 5th September when a Jamie Longworth goal was enough to secure a 1-0 win over Brechin City. Last Saturday they suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Dunfermline screened live by BBC Alba, a result which leaves them in 6th place in the table on 12 points.
