MATCH PREVIEW - AYR UNITED (A)

Posted October 3, 2015

We complete the first quarter of our Ladbrokes League 1 campaign on Saturday when we face league leaders Ayr United at Somerset Park with a 3 p.m. kick off.

This will be our 50th visit to the famous old ground and our first since the 2-1 play off semi final win in 2014 when Greg Stewart hit a brace, the second leg also saw Stewart score our fastest ever goal in a 3-1 with Kane Hemmings and Thomas O'Brien getting the other goals that afternoon.

The Honest Men currently sit a point ahead of nearest rivals Dunfermline and have been unbeaten in the league since a 3-0 defeat against Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill on the opening day of the season.

For our part we head to Ayrshire still looking for our first away win of the campaign after losing a fourth successive away league game at Brechin last Saturday.

Dean Brett will miss the game due to suspension after being sent off last week at Glebe Park, while Ayr feature former Cowden loanee Craig Moore in their squad.

COWDEN AWAY FORM

Our bad run of away results continued at Glebe Park last Saturday with our last away league win coming at Starks Park in April when we beat Raith Rovers 3-1. The result allowed Brechin to move to within a point of us.
