MATCH PREVIEW - DUNFERMILNE ATHLETIC (A).

Posted August 14, 2015

Saturday afternoon see's us make a quick return to East End Park as we face our near neighbours for the second time in a fortnight. New Pars boss Alan Johnston has certainly worked the magic as his side have been unbeaten in their opening three cup and league games scoring 15 goals in the process.

As the Pars romped to a 6-1 win at Brechin in last Saturday's Ladbrokes League 1 opener we were left pointless as Stranraer snatched all three points at Central Park with a last minute penalty giving them a 2-1 win.

For Saturday's trip west we will have to do without the services of midfielder Declan Hughes, who scored at East End Park a fortnight ago, after his injury time red card last weekend.

COWDEN FORM

Manager Colin Nish returns to the ground where he kicked off his career still looking for his first competitive win as Cowden manager. Recent weeks have seen defeats against Raith Rovers (0-1) in the Petrofac Training Cup and a 5-1 reverse at Dunfermline in the League Cup a fortnight ago as well as last weeks league defeat.

DUNFERMLINE FORM

The Pars will go into Saturday's encounter in a confident mood with three straight wins against Arbroath (4-1) in the Petrofac Cup, the afore mentioned League Cup win and last weeks demolition of Brechin.

Faissal El Bakhtaoui has been in sparking form for the hosts and has bagged braces in each of the opening three games.
