QOTS - Away

Posted March 21, 2015

 MATCH PREVIEW – QOS (AWAY).

We continue our run of games against the promotion hopefuls when we face Queen of the South at Palmerston Park with a 3 p.m.

We have won two out of the three previous meetings this season with 2-1 wins both home and away.

Back in September goals from Kudus Oyenuga and Calum Gallagher gave us a two goal lead at Central Park before former Central Parker Derek Lyle pulled a goal back in the second half.

The return game in Dumfries once again saw Gallagher on target for us in what proved to be his final game for us.

Lyle as with the previous game headed home an equaliser but Sean Higgins then grabbed a dramatic injury time winner.

Queens gained revenge for the two previous games when they visited Central Park in January and ran out 5-0 winners.

Lyle once again proved to be a thorn in our side bagging a hat trick with Gavin Reilly and Ian McShane also on target for James Fowler’s side.

Queens go into the match on the back of a 2-1 home win last Saturday against Raith Rovers which kept them a point ahead of Falkirk to consolidate their fourth place spot in their quest to reach the Premiership play-offs for the second successive season.

For our own part we go into the game on the back of last week’s 2-0 home defeat from Hibernian and following Alloa’s 2-2 draw at Ibrox we have now fallen back into second bottom spot.

Both Dean Brett and John Herron will miss the game due to injuries picked up in the last week, Herron injured in training last Friday, while Brett was carried off early in the second half against the Hi-bees.

Colin Nish however is now free from suspension after missing last week’s game against his old side.
Previewer: Andrew Mullen.
