MATCH PREVIEW – DUMBARTON (AWAY)

Posted February 13, 2015

After a week’s break due to the Scottish Cup we return to action on Saturday when we face Dumbarton at the rock with a 3 p.m.kick off.

Ian Murray’s side sit two places and eight points above us in the table, although they have played a game more, and Jimmy Nicholl will be looking for a win to close the gap on the Sons.

Our previous trip west in October saw the sides fight out a goal less draw while the return game at Central Park in the closing game of 2014 saw Dumbarton run out 3-1 winners with goals from Colin Nish, who has of course joined us, Lee Mair and Garry Fleming while Craig Sutherland scored his only goal for us.

The turning point that afternoon was a red card handed out to Thomas O’Brien which was later successfully appealed.

John Armstrong and Kenny Adamson could return to the side after their long injury layoffs while Dumbarton signed defender Mark Wilson on Friday after his release from Dundee United.

January was a disappointing month to say the least with only one point yielded from four games.

The point came in a 1-1 draw at Livingston which has been followed by two heavy defeats against promotion hopefuls Hibernian and QOS.

It was also a poor start to 2015 for Murray’s side who also took just a point from their five games in the opening month of the year.

That was in their game at Falkirk a fortnight ago when they drew 3-3. This brought an end to a run of four successive defeats against Rangers, Hearts, Raith Rovers and Livingston.
