Two goals and a sending off in the space of five minutes saw us go down to a second successive home defeat against Dumbarton on Saturday afternoon.
The Sons opened the scoring with 36 minutes gone when Scott Linton set up veteran striker Colin Nish to fire the ball high into the Cowden net, but five minutes later we almost got back on level terms when an angled shot from Jon Robertson came off the crossbar.
We eventually got back on level terms with 66 minutes gone when Craig Sutherland slotted home a cross from Robertson but within two minutes Ian Murray's side were back in front when Lee Mair headed home from an Agnew corner.
We were dealt a further blow in 72 minutes when Thomas O'Brien was sent off after fouling Chris Kane and Garry Fleming curled the resulting 20 yard free kick into the top corner of the net.
The Sons then comfortably saw out the rest of the match to record a third successive away win and deep into stoppage time Nish almost added a fourth goal but his shot came off the post.
The result see's us remain in eighth place, although we are now seven points behind our next visitors Raith Rovers, and just a point above Alloa who drew with QOS.
Next up for Jimmy Nicholl's side is a third successive home game against Raith Rovers on Saturday with a 3 p.m. kick off.
