MATCH PREVIEW – HEARTS (HOME)

Posted December 23, 2014

We get back up to date with our Championship fixtures when we welcome Hearts to Central Park on Tuesday night with a 7.45 p.m. kick off.
It’s been a great start to football management for one time Cowden loanee Robbie Neilson who picked up his third Manager of the Month award recently.

Robbie of course made his first senior appearance for us 15 years ago and went onto play in a further seven Third Division games for us under the charge of current Hearts Director of Football Craig Levein.
As we welcome Robbie and Craig back to Central Park another former Central Parker Morgaro Gomis will be eligible to play in the match after he completed two game ban on Saturday.

Following our morale boosting win in Dumfries on Saturday there will be at least one change to the Cowden line up as Declan Hughes has now returned to St Mirren after his 93 day loan from the Buddies came to an end at the weekend.

In the previous meeting of the sides back in September we went down to a 5-1 defeat at Tynecastle.
Billy King gave the home side the lead before Callum Gallagher equalised for us on his debut.
Jamie Walker restored Hearts lead shortly after the break with Osman Sow adding a third from the penalty spot before Dale Carrick came off the bench to score two late goals.

COWDEN FORM
We have now won two out of three in our recent Championship games beating Livingston 1-0 and Queen of the South 2-1 while going down 0-1 to Rangers.

Hearts arrive at Central Park as Britain’s only unbeaten side in league football. Robbie Neilson’s side have won 14 of their 16 games played with only four points dropped from away draws at Dumbarton (0-0) and Hibernian (1-1).
Since the derby draw at Easter Road the league leaders have won their last five Championship games against Raith Rovers (1-0), Falkirk (2-1), Rangers (2-0) ,QOS (4-1) and Alloa (2-0), although they lost to Celtic (0-4) in the William Hill Scottish Cup.
