CUP EXIT

The Falkirk Stadium hasn't been a happy hunting ground since we first visited it in 2010 and after Saturday's William Hill Scottish Cup tie we are still looking for our first win at the Stadium.

Just a month previously we lost six goals without reply on our last visit to the Stadium but on Saturday we put up a more sterner defensive display with the only goal of the afternoon coming with just 17 minutes to go when Craig Sibbald drilled the ball home.

In the closing minutes captain Sean Higgins came close to grabbing an equaliser but his shot from a tight angle went agonisingly just past the post, while at the other end David Smith should have sealed the tie but somehow managed to send his shot over the bar with an open goal gapping.

Peter Houston's side now meet either Annan Athletic or Brechin City at home in the fifth round while we must now concentrate on preserving our Championship status starting on Saturday when we face Rangers at Ibrox in our first league visit to the Govan stadium since September 1970.
