First half goals from loan signings Kunus Oyenguna and Calum Gallagher saw us on our way to our first Championship win of the season to take us within two points of second bottom Hibs.

To make the score even more pleasing six of the starting line up were aged 21 or under with several first team regulars missing from the line up.

Oyenguna opened the scoring with his first goal in Scottish football in 27 minutes and 14 minutes later Gallagher scored for the second successive game to give us a healthy half time lead.

The Doonhamers, under the temporary charge of former Central Parker James Fowler, however pulled a goal back in 61 minutes when another former Cowden player Derek Lyle headed home from a Durnan cross.

However a stern defensive performance saw us hold out for a welcome three points.

Next up for Jimmy Nicholl's side is an away game with Dumbarton next Saturday.
