NEW ARRIVALS

The Summer transfer window officially opened for business this week and so far we have completed the signing of two new players as the countdown to next season's Championship starts in earnest.

DARREN BROWNLIE

After spending the second half of last season on loan from Premiership side Partick Thistle the 20 year old defender has signed a one year deal with us after being released by the Firhill side.

The Bellshill based youngster commenced his career as an 11 year old with Rangers in August 2005 and spent two years at Murray Park before switching to Motherwell in July 2007.

In June 2011 he signed his first professional contract with the Steelmen but in July 2012 he moved to Ayr United for a one season stay at Somerset Park.

He was then snapped up by Partick Thistle last August and featured in their Under 20 side before coming to Central Park in January and he made 15 appearances for us as we beat the drop from the Championship with our dramatic Play-Off win over Dunfermline.

IAIN CAMPBELL

28 year old defender Iain arrives at Central Park continuing a family tradition. The son of former player and manager Dick Campbell and nephew of Ian, his dad and uncle both turned out at Central Park in the 1970s while Dick returned to us for a brief spell as manager in 1987.

Iain is of course also a great-nephew of Cowden legend Alex 'Ming' Menzies , while his older brother Paul was a youth player with us in the 1990s.

Born in Lochgelly he commenced is career as a youth signing with Dunfermline Athletic in August 2000 and turned professional the following May.

Iain spent the following six years at East End Park, where Jimmy Nicholl was of course assistant manager, before moving to Kilmarnock in September 2006.

In August 2007 he joined Ross County on loan before moving to Clyde for the second half of season 2007/08.

In August 2008 he then moved to Alloa Athletic for a season but the following June saw him move to Forfar Athletic to team up with his dad Dick at Station Park.

Iain has spent the last five years with the Station Park side but will be relishing the chance to feature in this season's Championship campaign.

Welcome to Central Park Darren and Iain.
