MATCH PREVIEW RAITH ROVERS

Match day 35 see’s us make the short trip to Kirkcaldy for our final away Championship game of the season.
It’s another must win game as we look to close the four point lead that eighth place Alloa hold on us with just two games to play.

In the previous three Fife derbies this season the honours have been even with a win each and a draw.
Back in August Greig Spence scored a 94th minute penalty to give the Rovers a 4-3 win at Central Park.

In a dramatic afternoon Spence had given Raith an early lead before Jordan Morton levelled the score however Joe Cardle restored the visitors lead.
Kenny Adamson and Greg Stewart scored in the second half to put us 3-2 up but Spence slotted home from the spot with nine minutes to go then completed his hat trick with his late winner after keeper Grant Adam had been sent off.

There were also plenty of goals on our visit to Starks Park just before Christmas and it was our turn to get an injury time goal as we battled back to earn a point in a 3-3 draw.
Greg Stewart opened the scoring for us but goals from Dougie Hill and Calum Elliot had the Rovers in front after an hour.
Kane Hemmings then equalised from the penalty spot with Callum Booth scoring from another spot kick with seven minutes to go.
However Hemmings bagged his second goal of the afternoon a minute into added time taking advantage of a defensive mix up.

After 13 goals in the previous two games Rovers visit to Central Park in February was a tamer affair with a goal from Hemmings with 20 minutes to go giving us a 1-0 win.

RAITH ROVERS FORM
Raith sit in seventh place in the Championship table six points ahead of us but 13 goals better off.
April has seen Grant Murray’s side play four games with the most memorable being their 1-0 Ramsdens Cup Final win over League 1 Champions Rangers.
Since then they have lost 3-1 to Dumbarton and 2-1 at Falkirk either side of a 3-2 home win over Queen of the South.
