Match Preview: Clyde v Cowdenbeath

Posted November 6, 2009

Cowdenbeath are on the road this weekend after two fruitful consecutive home games when they visit Clyde at Broadwood.

The Blue Brazil extended their recent unbeaten run to five matches last Saturday with a 2-1 win derby win against East Fife thanks to early goals from Brian Fairbarirn and Jon Robertson. The three points moved Cowden above Brechin City into second place on 21 points and Danny Lennon will be looking for his team to keep up the good work this weekend.

"There is very little between the teams in this division and a couple of good or poor results can make a big impact on your league placing", said Lennon.

"We have adapted very well to this league but we will not become complacent and take our eye of the ball and keep collecting as many points as possible.

"Clyde have greatly improved since earlier in the season and will be difficult to breakdown but if we play to our strengths and continue to work hard we can get the result we are looking for."

Jay Stein returned to training on Thursday night and could come back into contention while Mark Baxter completed another 90 minutes along with Scott McBride and Kenny Adamson for the reserves on Tuesday night. John Ferguson returns to the squad after serving his one match ban.

Clyde have added central defender Lee Graham to their squad after securing the 18-year old from Dunfermline Athletic on an emergency loan deal and he could feature on Saturday.
