MATCH PREVIEW – RAITH ROVERS

Its Fife derby time again as we open February with a visit from old rivals Raith Rovers, kick off 3 p.m.

The two previous matches this season have seen 13 goals scored so hopefully we will have another entertaining Fife derby to look forward to on Saturday afternoon.

Back in August two late penalties from Greig Spence saw the Rovers win 4-3 at Central Park.

Spence had opened the scoring for the Kirkcaldy side before Jordan Morton equalised. Joe Cardle then restored their lead before Kenny Adamson ensured that the sides went in level at the break.

Greg Stewart then put us in the lead midway through the second half before Spence’s late spot double.

The second penalty award saw keeper Grant Adam red carded with Thomas Flynn’s only involvement in the game was picking the ball out of the net!

The return at Starks Park just before Christmas saw a 3-3 draw Stewart opened the scoring for us but goals from Dougie Hill and Calum Elliot saw Rovers in the lead on the hour.

Kane Hemmings levelled from the penalty spot to banish our run of missed spot kicks but Callum Booth then restored the home sides lead from the spot.

However it was our turn to get an injury time goal when Hemmings bundled the ball home a minute into stoppage time.

New signings Sebastian Uasi and Sammy Stewart provide more options for manager Jimmy Nicholl who also has Thomas O’Brien available after serving his one game suspension last Saturday.
