MATCH PREVIEW – QUEEN OF THE SOUTH

 

After two away games, which have yielded four points, we make a welcome return to Central Park on Saturday when we welcome Jim McIntyre and his Queen of the South side with a 3 p.m. kick off.

It’s a big game for both sides with the Doonhamers sitting just four points ahead of us in the Championship table although they have played a game less after their match with Falkirk was abandoned a fortnight ago due to high winds.

Our visit to Dumfries back in October saw us gain our first away point of the campaign in a 1-1 draw with Greg Stewart giving us an early lead before Andy Dowie bagged a late leveller.

As we reach the half- way point in the Championship we go into the game on a two match unbeaten run following wins at Dundee and the draw against Raith Rovers last Saturday.

QUEEN OF THE SOUTH AWAY FORM

Queens go into Saturday’s match with their away record being slightly better than their home one with ten of their 19 league points gathered on away soil.

So far on their travels the Doohamers have beaten Morton (2-0), Alloa (3-0) and Dumbarton (1-0).

They have only drawn one game on the road at Livingston (3-3) while there have been four defeats at Hamilton (0-2), Falkirk (1-2), Dundee (1-2) and Raith Rovers (1-2).
