MATCH PREVIEW – LIVINGSTON

This Saturday we are back in Championship action when Livingston visit Central Park with a 3 p.m.
There has been a wind of change around Central Park since our last outing a fortnight ago which saw a 4-0 defeat at Falkirk.

Colin Cameron of course resigned a few days after the game and last Saturday Jimmy Nicholl was re-appointed as manager following spells as assistant manager at Premiership sides Kilmarnock and Hibernian.

In our previous game with Livingston this season we went down to a 5-1 defeat at the Energy Assets Arena.
After Kane Hemmings gave us the lead a hat trick from Callum Fordyce and further goals from Andy Barrowman and Mark Burchill gave the West Lothian side their biggest ever home win against us.

With the pitch covers laid down on Thursday night (thanks once again to our loyal band of supporters who came along to help) we are hopeful that the Central Park pitch will beat the recent frosty weather for Jimmy’s first game back in charge.
As with all other SPFL games a minute’s applause will be held to mark respect for, and to celebrate the life of, Nelson Mandela prior to kick off.

MATCH SPONSOR – BILL REID, The Coal News.

COWDEN FORM
It’s a fresh start for us as Jimmy Nicholl takes charge of his first game. November proved to be a miserable month for us with four straight defeats including a William Hill Scottish Cup exit at Dumbarton.

LIVINGSTON FORM
Livingston sit in seventh place in the Championship two places and six points ahead of us. Like us there has been a change of manager at the West Lothian side during the season with the experienced John McGlynn taking over from Ritchie Burke who resigned in September after a poor start to the campaign.
Last week they lost 2-0 at St Johnstone in the William Hill Scottish Cup but the previous Saturday saw a 5-1 win at Morton.
This was their first away Championship win since 21st September when they beat Dumbarton 2-1 at the Bet Butler Stadium.
