MIXED FORTUNES

It was mixed fortunes on Thursday night as the first team ran out 2-1 winners in their Fife Cup tie at New Bayview while at Central Park the under 19s went down 5-2 to Celtic.

Despite having the better of the play it took until the stroke of half time to break the deadlock at New Bayview with Dean Brett scoring a fine individual goal.

With 66 minutes gone we doubled our advantage with Jamie Stevenson firing home a low shot however eight minutes later the Fifers pulled a goal back through former Central Parker Liam Buchanan.

We will now meet Dunfermline Athletic in the Semi Final with Raith Rovers hosting Burntisland Shipyard in the other tie. Dates for the games are still to be arranged.

Meanwhile Celtic went three points clear at the top of the Youth Division after their win at Central Park. Fraser Sutherland put through his own net to give the visitors the lead while Fiacre Kelleher hit a brace along with Ryan Caird and Jack Kirkwan.

Declan Byrne and Ben Anthony got the Cowden goals.

This Sunday's under 19 game with Forfar Athletic which was due to take place at Central Park has now been switched to Station Park due to a broken boiler at Central Park.

Hopefully the problem with be rectified in time for our scheduled Reserve team game with Morton on Tuesday night which has a 7.30 p.m. kick off.
