MATCH PREVIEW – QUEEN OF THE SOUTH

We head to Dumfries on Saturday looking to end a run of three successive Championship defeats against Queen of the South who are two points and two places ahead of us in the league table.

COWDEN FORM

So far this season we have still to take a point on our travels following defeats at Alloa (1-3), Hamilton (0-1) and Livingston (1-5).

Our only success on the road came back in August when we beat League 2 side Berwick Rangers in the opening round of the League Cup 5-0. We then held Partick Thistle of the Premiership to a goal less 90 minutes in the next round before bowing out 3-1 after extra time.

QOS FORM

It’s been a tough start for new boss Jim McIntyre who took over from Allan Johnston who led the Doonhamers to a Second Division Championship and Ramsdens Cup double.

At home so far they have beaten Dundee (4-3), drawn with Alloa (0-0) and lost to Raith Rovers (0-1) and Dumbarton (1-2).

On the road they drew 3-3 at Livingston, lost 2-0 at Hamilton, beat Morton 2-0 and lost 1-2 at Falkirk last Saturday.
