Two late goals gave Alloa all three points in Saturday's Championship game at Recreation Park. After a goal less opening period the home side opened the scoring in 49 minutes when Ben Anthony headed home a Ryan McCord cross from six yards.

 

We battled back however and five minutes later Kane Hemmings got onto the end of a Jordan Morton free kick to head home our equaliser.

 

As the game went on we enjoyed a good percentage of the play and were unfortunate not to take the lead when a volley from sub Andy Russell crashed off the under side of the home cross bar.

 

This proved to be the turning point of the afternoon and with 12 minutes to go a defensive mistake allowed Kevin Crawley to send the ball to Andy Kirk who shot home via the post.

 

As we chased the game for an equaliser the Wasps grabbed a third goal with two minutes left on the clock through sub Eddie Herns.

 

Next up for Colin Cameron's side is a trip to Firhill to face Premiership side Partick Thistle in the Second Round of the League Cup on Tuesday night with a 7.45 p.m. kick off.
