RAITH ROVERS ‘A’ 4 COWDENBEATH ‘A’ 1

 

The reserves League Cup qualification hopes took a blow when they went down to a defeat at Starks Park on Tuesday night.

The home side opened the scoring after just six minutes when Reece Donladson slotted the ball home after Wilson failed to cut out a cross.

It took us only two minutes to get back on level terms when Dean Brett rifled the ball home from the edge of the box.

We then had a few chances to take the lead with Laidlaw deflecting a Miller shot onto the bar while he parried a Brett shot around the post.

However it was the Rovers who were to get a second goal ten minutes from the break when Alex Wyper fired home an angled shot.

Wyper put the home side further ahead after 65 minutes when he headed home from a Houston cross.

Six minutes from time the scoring was completed from the penalty spot when Wyper was brought down in the box by Pyper and Jamie Watson slotted home from the resultant spot kick.
