MATCH PREVIEW – RAITH ROVERS

Its Fife derby time once again on Saturday afternoon when we head to Starks Park to face Raith Rovers for the fourth and final time this season with a 3 p.m. kick off.

The three previous Irn Bru First Division games this season with the Rovers have all ended in draws.

Back in October we drew 4-4 at Central Park despite twice holding a two goal advantage. Kyle Miller and Jamie Stevenson gave us a 2-0 lead midway through the first half by Brian Graham and Greig Spence ensured that the sides would go in level at the break.
Lewis Coult then came off the bench to score twice in a two minute spell only for Pat Clarke and Simon Mensing with an injury time leveller to deny us all three points.

It was a similar story on our last visit to starks Park on the last day of 2012 with Lewis Milne and Jamie Stevenson from the penalty spot giving us a 2-0 lead.
However two goals in a three minute spell early in the second half from Dougie Hill and Greig Spence saw another draw.
The last meeting of the sides at Central Park in February saw Brian Graham open the scoring for the Rovers in the first half with Greg Stewart grabbing our equaliser with nine minutes to go.

COWDEN FORM
Our midweek draw with Livingston saw us break our losing run after four successive defeats.
After Dunfermline’s points deduction we have moved back into eight place in the table three points ahead of the Pars and three behind Dumbarton.
Our away league record so far this season is
Played 15, Won 2, Drawn 4, Lost 9, Goals For 17, Goals Against 29, Points 10.

RAITH ROVERS FORM
A 2-1 win at Dumbarton on Tuesday night confirmed Rovers First Division status for next season.
Grant Murray’s side are currently on a three game unbeaten run with their last defeat ironically coming at Dumbarton on the previous visit to the Bet Butler Stadium last month.
Rovers have only lost three league games at Starks Park this season but like ourselves have been draw specialists finishing level in seven of their 16 games.
Their last home defeat was 2-0 to Livingston on 9th March. Other sides to win at Starks Park are Hamilton Accies and Dunfermline.
Rovers’s home league record this season is
Played 16, Won 6, Drawn 7, Lost 3, Goals For 23, Goals Against 20, Points 25.
