Falkirk 4 - 0 Cowdenbeath

FALKIRK 4 COWDENBEATH 0

Despite holding our own for over an hour we went down to our fourth defeat in a row at the Falkirk Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Bairns skipper Darren Dods broke the deadlock with 22 minutes and the William Hill Scottish Cup Semi Finalists doubled their advantage 11 minutes later through Craig Sibbald.
Two goals in the closing three minutes, both from Sean Higgins with the first coming from the penalty spot, made the scoreline more flattering for the hosts.

After the match assistant manager Lee Makel spoke to the Blue Brazil Online "For an hour we looked the more likely to score and go on and win" He continued "Then we gave away a bad goal and our heads seem to drop."

He however concluded "It was a sore one but we will pick ourselves up and go again on Tuesday against Livingston."

The result leaves us in ninth place in the Irn Bru First Division four points behind Dumbarton in what looks likely to be a two horse race to avoid the play off spot although this depends on what ever sanctions our near neighbours Dunfermline Athletic may recive after going into interim administration.

Next up for Colin Cameron's side is a visit from fourth place Livingston on Tuesday night with a 7.45 p.m. kick off.
