It was a disappointing night at Central Park on Wednesday as our eight game unbeaten home run in the Irn Bru First Division came to an end as visitors Partick Thistle returned to the top of the table.
 

Given the lack of league fixtures between this sides over the years it was Thistle’s first league win at Central Park since 25th October 1930.

It proved to be a memorable night for Jags striker Kris Doolan who set up Stephen O’Donnell’s opener and went onto bag a brace with his first goal of the night being his 50th goal for the Firhill club.
 

As well as a disappointing score line we also lost the services of Jason Naismith who suffered a head knock after a tussle with Jags keeper Scott Fox and his replacement Thomas O’Brien was sent off in the second half.
 

With Dumbarton beating Raith Rovers at the Bet Butler Stadium we have dropped to ninth place in the Irn Bru First Division a point behind the Sons.
 

We have the chance to quickly gain revenge for the defeat when the Jags return to Central Park on Saturday with a 3 p.m. kick off.
