Point Away at Dumbarton

DUMBARTON 2 COWDENBEATH 2

It was a game of two halves at the Bet Butler Stadium on Saturday afternoon as we took the lead in the first half but needed a last minute equaliser to come away with a point. We go off to a dream start after just 11 minutes when Greg Stewart set up Jamie Stevenson to slot home his ninth goal of the season.

It was a different story in the second half however and keeper Thomas Flynn had to be taken off midway through the second period with a hand injury after bravely diving at the feet of Grindlay to deny the home side an equaliser.

Back up keeper Craig Wight was quickly called into action and after blocking a shot the deadly Bryan Prunty quickly followed up to fire home the equaliser. Worse was to follow six minutes from time when Scott Agnew put the home side in front.

As the game drew to a close Craig Moore grabbed a dramatic equaliser and seconds later the on loan Motherwell youngster was unlucky not to get what would have been an even more dramatic winner.

The draw leaves us a point ahead of the Sons who have played a game less than us. Our next league outing is next Saturday when we face Hamilton Academical in the first of three successive home games.
