Scottish Youth Cup Tie - Preview

MATCH PREVIEW – KILMARNOCK UNDER 20

This Sunday we play in the Quarter Finals of the Scottish Youth Cup for only the second time when we head to Rugby Park to face Kilmarnock, kick off 2 p.m.

It was back in season 1992/93 when we last reached the last eight of the national cup at the first time of asking before going down to Montrose 1-0 after extra time.

In the other Quarter Finals ties Celtic meet Aberdeen at Firhill while Dunfermline Athletic host Inverness CT at East End Park both on Sunday afternoon. The other tie between Dundee United and St Mirren goes ahead at Tannadice on Tuesday night.

COWDEN FORM

To reach the last eight we have beaten East Stirlingshire 6-3, Airdrie United 2-1 and Livingston 3-2.

Our youngsters are currently on a six game unbeaten run which has seen five wins and a draw in the Youth Division and the SFL U19 League Cup.

Jack Nicholson, who was scored in the previous three cup games, will miss the match along with Ben Anthony due to suspensions.

KILLIE FORM

Kilmarnock have been in fine goal scoring form in their Scottish Youth Cup games with wins over Stranraer 6-2, Gala Fairydean 13-0 and Rangers 5-1.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Taking charge of the big cup tie is Stephen Brown who will be assisted by David Ingram and David Burns.

Adults - £5

Concessions - £3 

Concessions are over 65, under 18 and students on production of a valid matriculation card.
