MATCH PREVIEW – MORTON

After two successive away games Saturday see’s the first home game of 2013 when we welcome Allan Moore and his Morton side with a 3 p.m. kick off.

Morton arrive as league leaders despite a surprising 3-0 home defeat on Wednesday afternoon from Dumbarton.
Moore’s side have held the upper hand on us this season winning the two previous games.
Back in September they ran out 4-3 winners at Central Park. Peter Weatherson had the Greenock side 2-0 up after 25 minutes before John Armstrong reduced the deficit five minutes from the break.
However further goals from Archie Campbell and David O’Brien had the Ton 4-1 up nine minutes after the restart.
Mark Ramsay and Jamie Stevenson then pulled two goals back in the closing stages of the game.
Our visit to Cappielow in November saw a narrow 1-0 win for the home side with youngster Lewis Hawke scoring in the closing minutes of the game.

We are currently on a three game unbeaten run following draws with Livingston, Raith Rovers and Airdrie United.
New loan signings Liam Caddis, Kane Hemmings and Sam Stanton go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game.

MATCH BALL SPONSOR
On Saturday we will have a very special guest all the way from Australia.  IAN LAMBERT has made a pilgrimage over thousands of miles to visit us here at Central Park.  He is a member of the 100 club and his connection/affection for Cowdenbeath FC stems from his grandfather.  Ian’s grandfather was Duncan Lindsay – one of Cowden’s greatest ever players and goalscorers.
Duncan Lindsay is a member of the Cowdenbeath Hall of Fame and it is our absolute privilege to welcome his grandson Ian to Central Park.  Ian is researching Duncan’s career which encompassed 333 goals in 508 matches – many of them for Cowdenbeath.  So if anyone has any information, photographs or memorabilia from Duncan Lindsay’s career please get in touch as Ian would be delighted to hear from you.
