Rovers ran out narrow winners in Tuesday night’s derby game at Central Park.
 

It was however Cowden who opened the scoring after just six minutes when Zeph Thomas latched onto a long kick out from Wilson and coolly slotted the ball into the corner of the net from the edge of the box.  With 20 minute gone Raith were denied an equaliser when Wyper sent over a cross for Aitken but Wilson pulled off a great one handed save to deny the forward.
 

The Kirkcaldy side however grabbed an equaliser 11 minutes from the break when a Callachan cross was met by Mark Aitken who fired home.

As the first half drew to a close we almost restored our lead when Hall sent over a ball into the visitors’ box which Thomas just failed to connect with but the ball fell to Nicholson who saw his shot come off the crossbar.  With 20 minutes to go Christie cleared an Aitken effort off the line but in 76 minutes the Rovers got what proved to be the winner when Ross Callachan headed home from a corner.
