Cowden Dissapoint Against Dumbarton

Posted November 10, 2012

A goal just short of the half hour from Mark Gilhaney gave Dumbarton their first win at Central Park since April 2000. The Sons who have now won back to back games for the first time this season had the better of the opening 45 minutes but it was a different story in the second period but we were unable to make a breakthrough a stuffy visiting defence.

After Cowden 'Man of the Match' Thomas Flynn had saved a penalty from Bryan Prunty on the hourmark we threw everything at the Sons looking to grab an equaliser but found Dumbarton keeper Jamie Ewings and his defence in inspired form.

The result still leaves us in sixth place as we look to get back on track with another home game against Airdrie United next Saturday.

Mascots at Saturday's game with Dumbarton were Aaron Russell, who hails from Peebles, Lewis George and Lewis and Jack Borthwick who are pictured with captains Joe Mbu and Scott Agnew along with referee Mike Tumilty and of course Bluebell (Pic: Jillian McFarlane).
