Dunfermline AFC v Cowdenbeath FC

Posted October 26, 2012

For the second successive Saturday we are in derby action as we make the short trip west to East End Park to face Dunfermline Athletic.
It is also the start of the second quarter of the Irn Bru First Division campaign and Colin Cameron will be looking to build on the 12 points we gained in the opening quarter.
We of course met the Pars on the opening day of the season going down 4-0 to Jim Jeffries side with Andy Barrowman, Ryan Thomson (2) and Josh Falkingham getting the goals.
John Armstrong returns to the squad after his two game suspension and got a run out in Tuesday night’s reserve league match at Dumbarton which ended goal less.
New Spanish signing Albert Puigdollers Saperas also goes into the match squad after signing from C.E. Sabadell F.C.

COWDEN FORM
Our last three league fixtures against Falkirk, Livingston and Raith Rovers have all ended in draws and at the end of the first quarter we are in fifth place with 12 points from a possible 27.

DUNFERMLINE ATHLETIC FORM
The Pars have lived up to their billing as one of the pre-season favourites for the title and currently sit in second place in the table with 20 points, two behind league leaders Partick Thistle.
Thistle, are the only side to beat Dunfermline in the league this season, winning 1-0 at East End Park back in August.
Since then Jeffries side have went on a seven game unbeaten run which has seen five wins and two draws which have come in their last two games against Falkirk and Morton when on each occasion they have comeback from being two goals down to draw 2-2.

PLAYER TO WATCH
Andy Barrowman is the Pars top scorer with eight goals so far this season with five of them coming in the First Division.
