Goals from Marc McKenzie and Kenny Adamson saw us reach the Semi Final of the Ramsdens Cup for the first time after a narrow win over East Stirlingshire at Ochilview on Sunday afternoon.
McKenzie opened the scoring after ten minutes when he diverted a Colin Cameron shot from the edge of the box past keeper Grant Hay but John Coughlin's side drew level on 24 minutes through Sean Kelly and five minutes later almost took the lead when a Kevin Turner shot crashed off the post.
However a close range effortby Kenny Adamson five minutes from the interval saw us through to our first national semi final since 1970 when we lost 2-0 to Rangers in the League Cup at Hampden Park.
The Ibrox side, if they beat Queen of the South, are possible opponents in the Semi Final along with Arbroath (1-0 winners over Stenhousemuir) and Partick Thistle (who beat Raith Rovers 3-0).
Meanwhile the under 19s drew 2-2 with Montrose on the synthetic surface at Dunfermline High School this afternoon with Stewart McDonald heading home twice from Liam Callaghan corners to get our first point of the campaign.
