The Blue Brazil ran out deserved winners at Ochilview this afternoon in difficult playing conditions thanks to a goal in each half from Jon Robertson and Scott McBride.

Stenhousemuir had the upper hand over Cowden in their league encounters last season but Danny Lennon's team were head and shoulders above their opponents on this occasion, despite the blustery conditions making good football difficult, as top prospect Robertson and Craig Winter ran the show in the middle of the park.

Robbo opened the scoring after 39 minutes when his close range header when straight through the hands of Chris McCluskey in the home goal and the youngster was harshly booked for celebrating his first senior goal with the Cowden support. McBride doubled the advantage 5 minutes after the restart from the penalty spot after McLuskey had pole axed Wardlaw just inside the box.

The three points take Cowden onto the eleven point mark and above today's opponents into an impressive top four placing.
