Two goals from top scorer Marc McKenzie were not enough to stop us going down to our first home defeat of the season against championship rivals Arbroath.
McKenzie had given the Blue Brazil a dream start after just five minutes with a deflected shot.
However a dramatic five minute spell midway through the first half changed the course of the game in the Red Lichties favour. Kenny Adamson picked up two yellow cards for fouls on former Central Parker Lee Sibanda which saw us reduced to ten men. Worse was to follow when Steven Dorris levelled the score and two minutes later a freak goal from Kieran McAnespie put the visitors ahead much to the delight of the 109 hardy souls who had made the trip south.
McKenzie grabbed his second goal of the afternoon from the penalty spot at the start of the second half but with 14 minutes to go Dorris got the match winner with his 21st goal of the campaign.
However with just four games remaining our fate is still in our own hands as we remain four points clear of the Angus side.
COLIN CAMERON POST MATCH COMMENTS
"I'm dissapointed for the players because they worked so hard and they deserved a point, but it's not to be."
The gaffer continued "It's a defeat but we're still four points clear so it's still in our own hands."
PAUL SHEERIN POST MATCH COMMENTS
"It's still a big ask for us to win the title and i'd rather be in Cowdenbeath's position than ours."
