Albion Rovers 1 Cowdenbeath 0

Posted April 1, 2012

An early goal from on loan Ranger Jack Werndly (who predicted in a programme interview that Rovers would win 1-0!) saw our ten game unbeaten run come to an end at Cliftonhill against a Rovers side fighting for Second Division survival.
However title rivals Arbroath also went down 3-2 at home to Arbroath so we go into Saturday's crunch game with the Red Lichties seven points clear of our rivals.

COLIN CAMERON POST MATCH COMMENTS

"We’ve taken only one point out of six here so it has been a difficult place for us". The Cowden gaffer continued “When we lost an early goal it gave them something to hang on to, we didn’t do enough to deserve to win so we just have to dust ourselves down for a big game next week."
He concluded “The fact Arbroath lost helps us. Every time we’ve dropped points, they have done the same.”

TODD LUMSDEN (ALBION ROVERS ASSISTANT MANAGER) POST MATCH COMMENTS

“It’s another massive three points and we were better in the first half in terms of our play." said a delighted Lumsden. He continued “As Cowdenbeath came into the game a bit more we couldn’t get the ball moving as we would have liked."
He concluded “Jack scored an excellent goal and he has been doing really well since he came from Rangers and his workrate is fantastic.”
