Where were you brought up and with which club did you begin your career?
I was brought up in Musselburgh and was signed as an apprentice for Chelsea for one season at the age of 16. The experience in London made me grow up fast.
Which manager(s) has had the biggest influence on your career so far and why?
Jimmy Bone at East Fife. He encouraged me and his enthusiasm helped me enjoy the game again.
Who are the biggest characters you have met in football and why?
I have met many characters in my time in football but two of the biggest were Kevin McGhee at Berwick and Davie Cooper at Motherwell. Both were larger than life.
How did your move to Central Park come about?
Keith Wright kept persisting for months and wouldn’t take no for an answer.
How does the set up at Cowdenbeath compare with other part-time clubs you have player for?
It is the guys behind the scenes and the fans who make a club.
What has been your biggest highlight and disappointment at Central Park to date?
Scoring a goal then being sent off against Stranraer.
What matches stick in your memory during your time with Cowden and why?
Scoring a goal when we beat Albion Rovers last Christmas time to go third top of the league and beating Gretna 1-0 at Raydale Park.
What are your ambitions for the club this season?
Personally to reach playing 100 games and to win the title.
What do you plan to do when you finish playing?
I hope to carry on playing as long as possible but hope to keep involved in the game, although it might be difficult to obtain coaching certificates with my present job.
