Staff Biography

Andy Harrow (Inside forward, 1973-76) – Andy Matthew signed the 16 year old Harrow from Greig Park Rangers in 1973. He made a decided impression from the outset. Soon a number of clubs were watching this skilled young starlet who was also no slouch in the air. Dundee United had an offer turned down before a desultory 8,000 bid was accepted by Cowden from Andy Matthew now manager at Raith Rovers. The 20-year-old joined Raith in 1976. Andy blossomed at Stark’s Park as a marksman. In 1979, he was sold to Luton Town for a fee of 90,000. Andy though didn’t settle down south and Alex Ferguson signed him for Aberdeen for a large fee in 1980. In 1982, he moved again to Motherwell and enjoyed a fair degree of success at Fir Park before a second stint with Raith Rovers. He ended his playing days with East Fife. His senior career encompassed 476 league games which produced 92 goals. Andy was managing Kelty Hearts in 1992 when abruptly thrust into the limelight as Cowden manager. He suffered a wretched time as Cowden boss.
