This Saturday's match ball sponsorship is in memory of long distance Cowden fan Nick Bailley who sadly passed away in November 2010 at the age of 43 his brother Tony take’s up the story.
Tony Bailey, Nick's brother, commented: "I enjoyed many trips north of the border with my brother Nick to see the ‘Blue Brazil’, until November 2010 when he suddenly and tragically passed away at the age of 43."
"Nick is still sorely missed by all his family and friends, not least by his wife Debbie, his daughters Amber and Jessica and his mother Audrey, who have battled bravely to come to terms with the big hole left in their lives.
"Nick developed his passion for Cowdenbeath when he was a small child and has firmly ‘converted’ me to become a fan. I have fond memories of our trips to Central Park where we tried to see at least one game a season. Six of Nick’s family and friends travelled from Bedfordshire to attend a first memorial trip last season to see the Dunfermline game. The same group, John Bailey, James Bailey, Dave Roberts, Phil Weldon, Bob King and I, needed no persuasion to return this season for a second memorial trip. We all agreed that a great way to commemorate Nick and to help Cowden in a small way was to sponsor today’s match ball.
"Nick certainly would have been pleased with the great football Cowden are playing under the current management of Colin Cameron, and long may it continue. Good luck for the remainder of the season."
