Arbroath 1 Cowdenbeath 1

PostedFebruary 18, 2012

The Blue Brazil remain four points clear at the top of the Irn-Bru 2nd Division after a hard earned 1-1 draw against nearest challengers Arbroath at windy Gayfield.

Cowden suffered a blow after only three minutes when influential stopper Joe Mbu hobbled off due to groin strain.

It got worse three minutes before the break when Chris Innes headed the home side into the lead.

Cowden got to grips with the game after the break and it was no surprise when Marc McKenzie equalised on the hour mark after out pacing the home defence and clinically slotting home.

There looked like there was only going to be one winner as Colin Cameron’s side dominated before Scott Linton received a straight red card after a late tackle on former Central Parker Lee Sibanda.

Next up for the league leaders is a trip to face Stirling Albion on Tuesday night (kick off 7.45pm).
