Two very late goals denied injury hit Cowden a famous derby win against their full time opponents as the first quarter of the season came to a conclusion at Central Park on Saturday afternoon.
A keenly contested game sprung into life in the last 11 minutes as Raith Rovers came from a goal down to take the three points.
Colin Cameron (79) opened the scoring against his former side when he burst through from midfield to slot the ball past David McGurn from just inside the box.
That looked to be the winner as Jimmy Nicholl's makeshift defence coped admirably but a late aerial onslought won the day for Rovers with late headers from John Baird (88) and Stephen Simmons (90).
