Our run of midweek games continues on Wednesday when we face Hearts B at Ferguson Park, Rosewell with a 7.45pm kick off.

The Wee Jambos made a blistering start to their Lowland League campaign on the opening day with a 6-0 home win over Berwick Rangers. Connor Smith bagged a hat trick, with two coming from the penalty spot, as the floodgates opened for the Borderers who had former Cowden player Jamie Pyper sent off early in the second half. Jayden Ferguson, Bobby McLuckie and Callum Sandilands were also on target for Hearts.

Last Tuesday they went down 1-0 in the Edinburgh derby against The Spartans at Ainslie Park with Michael Allan getting the home goal. Saturday saw another away day defeat as East Kilbride won 4-1 at K Park with goals from goals from Joao Victoria (2), Bob McHugh and Neil McLaughlin from the penalty spot with Macaulay Tait getting the Jambos goal.

As for us after losing a third successive game against Gala we moved up two places on goal difference!

Our last meeting with a Hearts B side came in August 2019 in the SPFL Challenge Cup when we lost 3-1 at Prestonfield Park in Linlithgow. Daniel Baur now ironically at Linlithgow, Aiden Keena now back in Ireland with Sligo Rovers helping them to put Motherwell out of Europa Conference League recently and Dario Zanatta currently with Raith Rovers had Hearts 3-0 up just after David Cox was sent off while Craig Barr pulled back a late consolation.
