Peterhead 1 Cowdenbeath 0

PostedApril 11, 2010

A solitary goal from Martin Bavidge sent Cowden home from Peterhead with nothing to show for their efforts despite dominating the second half.

The first half was a bit on a non event with both sides canceling each other out but the Blue Brazil took control after the break and created numerous goal scoring opportunities. However, a failure to take our chances were punished by prolific striker Martin Bavidge (69). The veteran picked the ball up on the edge of the box and blasted home into the top right hand corner of the net.

Disappointingly, Cowden failed to take advantage of Alloa' defeat but Danny Lennon's side are within touching distance of arithmetically guaranteeing at least a play off place in what has been a wonderful season for the Blue Brazil. The team are on the road again next weekend at Arbroath and travel knowing that, with five games to go, the destination of the league championship is still very much in our own hands.
