The most peculiar of seasons comes to a close on Tuesday night with a visit from Albion Rovers (kick off 7pm).

A Ryan Stevenson penalty is all that has separated the sides in our two previous meeting’s last month.

It was Rovers 1-0 win at Central Park which kick started their season and has seen them move into sixth place. Since then they have only lost once, to play off contenders Stranraer. Indeed 18 of their 25 points have come during that period which has seen further wins over Brechin, Elgin, Annan and Stenhousemuir.

On Saturday a penalty five minutes from time from Matthew Aitken , his 12th goal of the season, salvaged a point against Brechin at Cliftonhill after a Kieran Inglis spot kick had given City a half time lead.

With the retirement of David Cox, and Aron Lynas being sent off in the last minute on Saturday there will be no former Central Parkers in the Rovers side.

For us, Kyle Hutton will miss the game following his red card at Annan on Saturday.
